World's Worst Blogger

So, it has been over two months since my last blog...hence the title of my blog today! The worst part is that I have really no good excuse for the lack in updates, I guess I haven't exactly felt like my normal self in a while, maybe that is why...no one is sure. Anyway today I was trying to catch up on the Schroeder blogs and I felt the sudden urge to dust off my own and get everyone all caught up.

Since my last blog I've:

* traveled to Las Vegas with friends for my birthday...good times:) Sorry no details though, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas! Bill and Alan also had a nice party for myself and Scottie who also has a march birthday.

* visited with mom and Mark in Palm Springs, we also went to San Diego and Temecula for some wine tasting...mmm. We had a great time and it was a much needed visit.

*spent lots of time with an amazing guy I met out here...Soak City was a blast, put-put golfing, karyoke bars, bowling, me cooking dinner...shocking I know, visits to 29 Palms, etc, etc.

*experienced my first spring break in Rosarito Mexico, realized that the only place to go there was Papas & Beer, but I did get a nice silver bracelet for $15

*had a lovely Easter with the Walter-Fields family...easter egg coloring, baskets, egg hunt, delicious meal and wine...almost like home:)

*went to a Martin Sexton concert in West Hollywood, the show was slightly disappointing, I hate it when they don't play the songs you know and love!

* found out my students did exceptionally well on our last Benchmark exam, apparently they are learning something after-all.

* had an awesome end of the year evaluation for my first year teaching...they are hiring me back:) I did find out recently though that I'll be teaching 3 sections of 8th grade next year and 3 sections of 7th grade science...a bit of a change but I'm ok with it.

* traveled to San Diego for Liam's 4th birthday, first the zoo then buca di beppo for an awesome meal, then party in La Jolla with Josh and his friends, all in all great weekend!

*spent an arm and a leg=$700 on my car in the last month to get it registered in CA and then two new tires!! I am officially a resident of California now though!

*had dad and martha come to visit along with aunt de, lots of shopping at bargain stores:) another much needed visit

*had a surprise visit from cousin Bob who was on business in Palm Springs just this week!

*decided that next year will be my last year in Palm Springs...not sure where after that though??? maybe closer to the coast, who knows? I do know that I need to get out of the desert and I want to start my Masters Degree...lots to figure out I guess...

Now, I'm just looking forward to next weekend as I will be making the journey home to t-town. I feel very excited about this visit particularly because my little bro is graduating from high school...gosh I'm old! I also feel like this visit will be helpful in curing my slight case of homesickness. Can't wait to see the fam of course, Lauren, Melody, and possibly Josh!
