Back in Action

I am well aware that this was a loooong vacation from blogging...but I think I'm ready to start back up again. In my defense, I have been without a camera, thus my lacking desire to blog with no pictures to accompany what has been happening. I still have no camera....but I managed to snag this one from our yearbook cameras and I thought it was funny!

To keep you abreast of all I've been upto I'd have to write a novel, so instead I'm just going give the highlights. School has been awful. Not the kids or the lessons, just stuff going on with the admin and the SAIT team (the state organization that has taken over our school). They are making us do all sorts of ridiculous things and really killing the morale of our staff. Personally I have yet to be affected by any of this mainly because I teach science (and no one cares about science) but some of my favorite colleagues have been. Shaun Carlin the drama teacher, who is not only my lunch buddy, but my sanity at school, has resigned:( The school pretty much cut the drama program so he is working full time at the restaurant.

For those of you who don't know, I've taken up a second job serving fried chicken at Murph's Gaslight. Luckily Shaun was able to help get me hired over there, so now he is my sanity at the restaurant! Any way, business has really picked up and I've been working every Friday/Saturday to help save money for my Masters program. I like the change of pace at the restaurant, they are super flexible with my schedule and the hours aren't long either.

In other updates yearbook is going well this year and we are much further along than we were last year at this time. I'm still loving my car and all of its luxuries. My friend Scott is attempting to teach me how to play tennis, as you can imagine this is quite the chore! I joined a new gym and Lori (one of my friends) and Rich both teach classes there. I'm really happy with the new place, much cleaner and better classes to take. Things with Rich and I are going great...maybe I'll try to get a picture of us for the next blog!
