The Past Few Weeks
The month of July literally flew by! It is hard to believe that summer is almost over. Over the 4th of July Rich and I went up to Idylwild to camp for a night. Notice below the *perfect jiffy pop* Rich was so proud of his efforts there. None were burned and all the kernels were popped to perfection! We also managed to drink wine out of coffee cups and tore the hammock in half by both of us trying to lay in it at once!

Mom came out for a lengthy visit shortly after the 4th. Unfortuanately I still had to teach summer school, but we had a great time anyway. We spent lots of time hanging out by my pool and getting some sun, eating, drinking, and visiting with my friends here. She also was a huge help in my classroom setting up some bulletin boards, grading summer school pre-tests, and picking up pizzas for our lunch fundraiser. Over the weekend, Rich made us dinner, I took mom up to Idylwild (see picture below) and we went to Bill and Alan's for dinner. We ended up having a garage sale, which was right up mom's ally. See the family room below and the lovely pillows and runner she made for the house!
Since that time, I've wrapped up summer school and spent many a nights at Azul, my favorite
bar in Palm Springs with Scott, Ryan and Brad. See Scott and I below, yes it gets a little toasy this time of year, even at night, but we tend to bear the heat just for the fruity mojitos at this place!

I thought I'd attach this last picture of the house because I realized upon showing people pictures of the house at home, I took none of the front! We have yet to really landscape, but this time of year it is hard to get new plants to grow because its so darn hot! Within the next few months we''ll work more on it.

Yeah a surprise. I check this blog every day. Thanks for the pictures. HOpe you took some of San Diego as well.
Your house is looking great! Sounds like you have had a busy summer... no surprise there :)
I didn't know you could still buy Jiffy pop. I love how you said, "lengthy" visit. I think my out-of-the-area children call my weekend visits lengthy.
