I finally got a camera!! YAY! For my birthday, Rich not only made me apple pie but bought me a new camera. No more excuses for not blogging now that I have one again:) Anyway it was perfect timing for our spring break trip to Utah. We decided to go since one of Rich's really good friends/mentor lives there with his wife, and Rich wanted me to be able to meet them. He is a teacher from Rich's school who retired early. On the long journey we stopped along the way to take pictures and bask in the scenery, here is what we found:
An old creepy tree with at least 500 random pairs of shoes hanging from it. Weird I know, but Rich demanded he try some of them on for fun:
After about 5-6 hours we arrived at Zion National Park. It was by far one of the most beautiful places I've seen

Shortly after leaving Zion we saw this car... abandonded on the side of the road, I'm assuming someone's feet got a little tired, who knows:

This is Roy and Phylly's house. It is in the Grand Escalante, near Bryce Canyon, operates on solar power, and it is just beautiful inside. The other is a photo from Bryce Canyon.

The last day we went on a 3.5 mile hike and it was a little difficult not to mention hot. Luckliy at the end there was an amazing waterfall...that made the hike totally worth it!

The last night we decided to head back, but got just a little too sleepy. We were looking for a hotel but ended up finding a camp ground that had tipees to sleep in! It was SO MUCH FUN! How mnay people can honestly say that they have slept in a real tipee before?!

On our trip back home we decided to end the week of adventure by climbing Amboy Crater, which is a volcano just outside the Mojave Desert.
A good time was had by all!
